Message	the tick is most likely worn or gummed up lifters compression measures the seal of your piston rings and valve seals which unless ur valves are bent it wouldnt make a difference and unless your numbers are low a leak down test woulnt be needed since its used to find the source of low compression as for the ticking i think theres a tech article on cleaning them or you can try seafoam or marvel mystery oil, ive heard of both helping sticky lifters
